Biography
A Country Music Singer for
the last 20 years has been awarded for his work in music. His first
album "No Limit On Love" gained him popularity starting with
An Airplay International Award for his first single "No Limit On
Love" also a Top Ten single for the same song on The Independent
Country Charts in 2000 along with another Top Ten single "Nadine"
in 2002. In 2003 he was named the 27th person on the 50 Top Independent
Country Artist of THE WORLD Chart. He has received airplay and reviews
for his second release " Back To The Simple Life", All over
the World including Canada, Europe , Spain, New Zealand and Australia.
April 2006 He landed on the Country Club Music Charts in EUROPE at #
4 with "Blue Skies Mountain Air & Clear Water" from that
album. He was interviewed by Allegheny Mountain Radio in Holland for
"The Billy Payne Story which aired in Holland, Germany and London
also West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky May 2006 .
As of to date.
He has been performing live shows with the former members of Waylon
Jennings' band for the last four years. With several live shows together
and a TV appearance in Tupelo, MS March 2008. "Country Till I Die"
produced by Jerry Bridges, Waylon's former manager and producer. Jerry
Bridges, Richie Albright, Fred Newell and Eugene Moles recorded the
cd with Billy. Jerry Bridges co-wrote two songs with Billy for this
project "Long Gone" and "One Drink At A Time" both
relate to lost love and self destruction. Billy wrote "Nashville
Ain't The Same" it tells the story from Payne's point of view about
the changes he has seen Nashville go through for the past 25 years.
Being able to perform and record with The Waylors now known as Waymore's
Outlaws has been a big step in the right direction for Payne. His honky-tonk
style of singing and performing fit like a glove because of the music
Billy listened to growing up. When these men take the stage there is
an incredible magic that takes place. Men whom are Payne's heroes and
Payne's respect for them shows. You can tell by listening to songs from
the cd "Country Till I Die" is definitely a true statement
and perfect for the title of Billy Payne's project. Payne's "Spirit
of an Outlaw" all songs co-written and produced by Jerry Bridges.
Billy is managed by Bridges as well. Payne's cd's "Country Till
I Die" and "Spirit Of An Outlaw" has now received excellent
reviews from Canada and the United Kingdom . Payne is in the middle
of a brand new project with other members of the Waylors. Carter Robertson,
Jeff Hale and from Leon Russell, Piano man Kevin Madill. Reggie Young
of (The Highwaymen band and Waymore Blues Band) along with Jerry "Jigger"
Bridges. Bridges is in the producer seat along with Nashville A-Z artist
engineer, the one and only Billy Sherrill. The cd is slated for release
summer of 2011. Payne is getting ready for touring dates for 2011 as
well.
